You stared that the mini is going for less than your balcony now and they wanted an additional $1000 for the change.

On another note, I was able to upgrade my mother-in-law from a single studio room to a balcony for only an extra $66! Now THAT is a great deal! :) She's ecstatic. we've sailed 4x with Disney (love it but just too expensive now) and RCL (meh, it was so-so for us) so this bit of customer service I experienced just now has me quite impressed. We're travelling with our 13 year old daughter and 10 year old son so the bigger room and bathroom will definitely come in handy! Regardless, I thought it was great that she actually took the time to call me back and offer it up to me. I've since found out that it's only a bit bigger than our original balcony room. I didn't really know what a mini suite entailed but I assumed that by including the word "suite" in it, that we'd have an actual separate bedroom. Apparently, right after I hung up, her supervisor called her back to let her know not to let us go, that she'd give us the mini suite straight up, and include our UBP that we had! I was so excited. All in all, it would add up to about an extra $1000 or so which definitely wasn't worth it for us so I declined and thanked her.Ī couple of minutes after I hung up, our phone rang. She came back after a few minutes to say that she could do it but because we were so close to our sailing date, we would incur a fee to get out of our existing reservation. I spoke to someone who said she would have to check with her supervisor. I figured I had nothing to lose by calling NCL and asking about it, so I did just that. We are sailing on the Breakaway on March 6 and I just happened to check online pricing when I noticed the mini suite was actually cheaper than the balcony room that we had booked back in July.

I stayed in both a regular balcony and a M6 mini, I like the roomier bathroom but I would have declined their offer too at 1000, good score getting it free and mom's upgrade. They might have been pricing the mini with large balcony M6.
Is the Mini Suite on the Breakaway that much better than a standard balcony room? Has anyone stayed in both to be able to compare?
